Taking a full responsibility for your life
I am grateful to have learned many valuable lessons from my late father, who often repeated a saying to me. He would say, “More will be given to those who have, but from those who do not have, even what they have will be taken away.” Though my father was a practicing Muslim and not a church preacher, I later discovered that this quote is also found in the Holy Bible. Specifically, it can be found in the Book of Matthew, Chapter 25, verse 29. This verse contains Jesus’ comments on the “Parable of the Talents,” which he narrated to his disciples. In the story, the hesitant servant was stripped of his possessions, and his single talent was given to the servant who had the most.
My father frequently imparted his wisdom through the use of proverbs, and he knew exactly when and how to use them in different situations. He instilled in his children the belief that each individual must take complete responsibility for their own life.
